To replace a Koln axle already in place, if an atlas is available with lsd so much the better but would be interested in one without to start with, MUST be the cortina variety though with the void bushes on top.

you will have to look hard for these. They are rare.

That's not going be much better than what you have, and I'm pretty sure you not find a Lsd for cortina atlas, they a light duty type of atlas
You want to get a capri atlas
I believe internals are not same.
I'm sure more info will come here.
If don't want go atlas or if gets expensive, even English and lsd will be better than cologne

It seems it depends on what model Cortina the axle is off of.
I have 2 atlas axles for my cortina mk4 and mk5, Internals are the same as capri atlas axles. Even bearings wear the same. even the tubes of the axle is the same. Only the halfshaft are longer.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was under the impression as Arieke points out that the Cortina Atla is exactly the same internally as the Capri item. I certainly hope the one I now have is the same as the Quaiffe lsd specs states it is suitable for the Cortina Atlas too.
hey, Just a little detail. I have under my cortina a koln axle. I went to rolling road and its pushing 195hp and 242nm or 178 ft*lb. I must say i have a alu plate behind the axle with axle braces. So they can hold a bit of power. Hope it helps.
