    Weight on your car

    Hi

I am just curious about what weight you can expect on a Escort in different configurations. I am building a Escort my self for competition so some general pointers would be appreciated👍

To narrow it down I have made an short list that is for me the most important information I am searching.

    Example:

    Car: Mk2
    Engine: 2l pinto, 2x48
Gearbox: 5 spd / type 9. Alu clutch housing.
    Rear axle: Banjo
    Brakes: STD steel RS2000
Body mods: GF Xpac flat front.
Any Glassfiber or carbon: GF hood
Windows: Lexan / sides and back window.
    Cage: 6 point safety device.
Interior: striped 2 x bucket seats
    Wheels: 7,5x13” Aluminium

    Total weight: ???

Please fill in your data in the list above, thanks 👍

Bearing in mind I have absolutely no idea about this. I must admit I always thought my car would've been a little over a tonne, about 1050kilo...

Atlas axle, going for a weld in cage this time round, 5speed and the Iron block that is a pinto...

We've set many up over the years & never seen either mk1 or 2 at 650 kg. Thats a serious diet.

There is a lot of weight saving tricks going on that car. I had my stripped mk1 all steel body at about 750kg guess. I must be way off 😂
