    identify this camshaft (x/flow)

    is that a piper 391 camshaft? did piper stamp theri cams like that, as i have no other info besides the pic below:

    Don’t think it’s a piper cam you get a 270,285,300,320, never seen one like that.
    Might be a engine builders numbers ?

    XF391

    excatly...thats why i asked.
    also because i bought the engine with seller stating its a xf391, and he was told that from the former engine-owner......but never trust anything whcih you havent verified yourselves.

    if you zoom the pic bigger you could also see another rmarking looking like a P in a circle...thats why i esimated it "could" be a pipercams marking

    i know its a racecam.....the question is:

    are those marlings typical pipercams? could be theoretical also a random number from an aftermarket-cam supplier

    depends on how old the cam is, back in the 80's neither kent or piper cams were very well stamped and a bit random looking

    no idea about age of cam...but most likely less than 10y old.....

    There is a piper 391 cam
    And I remember looking at they catalogue and they list it as a 1300 stockrod cam.
    A recognised tuner near me told me before he always got best figures from xflow rally engines using 391 cam which surprised me a bit as if you look at specs compared to piper 300 or Kent 244 I would thought these to give better results than 391

    thoe are interesting infos.....the cam is fitted to a spare engine, which i purchased recently.....
