Ford escort mk1 measurements

hi have a mk1 escort and going to built a replica body for off road use i would like to compare measurements for drawings with other escort mk1 if anyone willing to help on here
first of all the rear quarter panel full length in the middle from the door to the rear on the line of the first coach line from bottom.in cm or in i give you my measurement in my next message as i can't find my book i put them in.

to my notes, full length of the rear quarter panel is 161.6cm from middle to just the rear lights,wheel arch span is to notes(standard) 70.4cm,the length between the door to the start of the boot lid is 105.6cm.please tell your measurements so see how much differents there between car to car this should be interesting see how well made they were at the time.

got these in my original workshop manual there is no measurements of the rear quarter panel and the diagram in not scale properly as checked it.need true measurements only, thank you tho

Hi mate,
I have my Mk1 Mexico shell in the garage just about to be painted. I'm in Kirkby in Ashfield so we are only a couple of miles apart. If you like, you are welcome to come over and take measurements.

thanks measurements i needed are

bottom of sill edge to the bottom of spare wheel well which will get the span of the arch.

top of the wheel arch(straight up in the middle) to the first flanks line i.e bottom one but measurements from both would be helpful,lasted measurement is from bottom flank or top flank at back edge of passenger doors to end of rear quarter in line with the end lip of boot lid.

I am in South Nottingham so need someone close to me for my measurements.but i am in melton mowbray alot so anyone in melton is ok for take measurements.my transport is abit problem at the moment.

Hi John,
Measurements I have are as follows;
Back of passenger door to boot lip.....165,2cm
Bottom of sill edge to bottom of wheel well 78,5cm
Can't do the vertical measurement because I have bubble arches, so that will be no good to you.
There is a chance that the measurement from the sill may be different because the car has had new sills.
I don't think measuring across the arch width will be any good either unless you are building the new rear end with bubble arches.

measurement are very close to my own (see above) so decided to go for measurement somewhere in the middle of both thanks for your help very much.

yeah new sill could have change the measurements abit,thinking about it 4 cm both sides and got bubble arches so not for car made in 70s going compare it now with airfix model to be doublely shore.The Ford Tolerance diagram(above) is way out compare to real thing when scale it up think ford might play with drawings so they not scale.
