Hi
I have a quaff limited slip diff was previously in a friends car, will I need to have it set up if I fit it in my casing or is it good to go ?

Out of which axle? Atlas, English or other?

the unit itself doesnt need setting up but it must be installed correctly, the bearings need the correct preload and the crown wheel he correct depth of mesh and backlash, other wise it will be either clonky/noisy, wreck the bearings or the whole thing can turn into a pile of scrap

I agree with Graham but, as it's come out of an English axle and assuming it is not just the Diff unit itself but is complete and built up with the nose, crown wheel and pinion propshaft flange and was all set up correctly to start with then there is no reason why it shouldn't go straight in to yours.
I'm happy to be disproved though..

as above if it is complete diff unit it should just bolt in.
