    Early block crossflow engine number?

Hi, I have an early block 1600 crossflow engine with a 2737E6015B block and a casting number T2.
Unlike my later crossflow engines, this doesn’t have the upturned bell where the block meets the head at exhaust port 1, where the others have the engine number stamped. I’ve looked all over without stripping the paint and can’t find an engine number stamped anywhere? Can anyone advise where early crossflow engine numbers were stamped?
    cheers

Sometimes above the engine mount on the same side as distributor and oil pump. Sometimes at the back on the ribs where the bellhousing of the gearbox mounts to.

Thanks, it’s not by the engine mount, I’ll strip the paint and keep looking.
