the moral of the story is dont buy a vehicle without documents!
Harsh but true...
Why on earth would you even entertain buying it on those grounds...
Bloke turns up with it on a trailer, with no documents and you part with your hard earned...
Sorry fella, but it beats me...
Go back to him and tell him you want your money back.. Which I have to admit is unlikey...
I am in catch 22
Bought mk2 on eBay Guy imported it but never registered
I applied to dvla for v5 after doing NOVa
DVLA asking for export certificate
He saying As it was .private sale and he collected it halfway in Germany there no import certificate
All he gave me was what looks like a transport certificate?
Any suggestions
I have receipt
Dating certificate
Ps it's a complete running car
Could it have been classed as a parts car

So how do you say it'll never go on the road? That being mine
you cant! you just dont put it on the road, then there no need for v5 ect
Of course yes I know
That it's just with my nova filled in dating cert and this cert of transport will that be sufficient to apply for v5
Many thanks for all your help
Other than a legitimate "I own a Mexico" bragging rights of owning a V5 and Vin (I would frame something like that...Sad i know)...There is NO legal usage for buying and selling V5s only. They are not cheap enough for bragging rights either!
