just been having a read, as i have followed a similar route, although i have had to retain the standard air/fuel induction. at the moment, i am running the vvt with the shift light, but am in the process of getting it done corectly. have to say with the vvt off the engine is totally flat, but with it wired in, coming in at around 2.7k, it comes alive! approx 95bhp@3k, 169bhp@5k upto 6.7k ish. without it, i drop right down to 125ish bhp. took a while to realise why things werent working, but soon realised it was the way is wired it! i assumed the shift light was giving me a positive switch, turned out to be a neg switch! have put the vernier on ex cam, hoping to get 190 ish with it working right. funny how some have success and others dont. if i could put a set of t/b's on it, well, id be well away!
