Escort MK2 accelerator pedal - ball socket size?

    Hi,

I'm building a car, which is not a Ford, but has a vast number of Ford derived parts in it. Among those are a Escort MK2 pedal assembly.

I'm currently working on the throttle cable setup, but I don't live anywhere near the car so I can't check for this myself...

Does anyone know the size of the ball joint socket on the pedal? Is it 5/16" (8mm)? Or is it something else?

I need to know this in order to source some parts for a custom cable setup, the car is fitted with an ITB'd V8 so there's really nothing that works well "of the shelf" :/

Nah - not that big more like 4-5mm! And fragile ! ! ! Mine snapped off whilst trying to attach the socket! Ground it all off, drilled hole and converted to a clevis on the cable - free, easy and cheap!

Is it really that small? My memory tells me it's larger... :/ Does someone maybe have a throttle pedal laying around in the garage that can confirm that measurement?
