That looks and sounds amazing, would love to see it in the 'flesh'! What fuel pump are you using and where did you get the peddle box with hydraulic clutch? (i am going to put SR20 det engine in mine when it comes back from the bodyshop and have been looking for them very bits)!
Would also like to know general costs for auto electrician too as i bloody hate electrics and that is the only part i don't want to do!

    P.S anymore pictures?!

    Re: Project Sunbeam

Well i had a day down the garage todat, Took of the rear shocks, abd the rear axle is just sitting in there as i undid all the nuts ready to remove it when i get the one back.
Run all the water hoses, and now waiting on my rocker cover to come back, as i have had it repaired and its now being painted.

Going to get the Boss welded onto the steering coloum so it will now be quick release. all bolted to the steering whee for now and fits pukal. Bias peddle box test fitted, and looks like i have to cut a few holes for the cylinders to come through the bulkhead

But got loads done though, Oh and bought my discs and bells for the cortina

    Re: Project Sunbeam

Well managed a day down the garage on Sunday, and finished of the water plumbing so thats done. Fabricated a bracket for the peddle box, so just need to drill the holes and then bolt that in. And then its the lovely job off setting up the peddel box.
Ian, (Rick) dropped my axle over to me,as he made me up some brackets for my cossy calipers and there allfitted up and added a breather into the casing. (Top Job mate)
Now i have to send a few bits of to be powder coated, diff brace/ Front Bumper/ headlight brackets. Then once i get my new rear shocks i can fit the axle.

Although as i have not used the axle i think it would be a good idea to give the axle a once over and have it serviced, then i can fit it, and forget it.

Jobs still to do, New fuel lines, and rear brake lines to run, Hand brake cable. Hydrulic line for the clutch, Fuel pump filter/ Fuel tank to mod as i am using injection.

Rocker cover is being painted, and when i get that back i will fit that and then fit the Oil cooler and then oil and filter. But just need time, and now i will be moving house end of July so time is a ticking

    Re: Project Sunbeam

Sorry for the lack of updates, But due to moving into our new house on the 29th July 2011.
Work on the car has come to halt, as i have been working on the new house

But i have taken the decision to get the engine bay loom and ecu wired up as well as a few other things, and will update when there done Neil @ NTS will be doing a few other jobs, even Boxxer will popping down to neils to sort the wiring so happy days

Hoping to try and get it ready for Trigs trackday, but only time will tell, as with most things with cars, they never go to plan.

    Re: Project Sunbeam

Well, since the last update i have moved houes, and whilst in the process of moving, i asked Nei @ NTS to do a fe bits on the car. Bias Peddle box now fitted, new braided fuel and brake lines.
    Fuel system plumbed in.
Now it look like i need a differentg ECU and Loom!!, I have an emerald ECU but as its the earlier type, it wont run a few thing on the Honda engine without sending it back to have itupdated, and the ecu is for the Cortina.
So it now looks like i hae to find the funds for a new ECU and loom, as the loom i have is a new cosworth pre-assembled loom, that was going to be chopped up. Anyway very happy with how it looks, and big thanks to Neil for his help the last few weeks, and Ralph for his help with the electrics.

    Looking great mate !

You might want to change the inj fuel pump bracket though, or atleast mount it on some rubber of some sort as it will be properly noisy and lets face it the only noise you want to hear is the noise coming from those throttle bodies at 9k+ !

Bummer on the ecu though, whilst looking for ecus to run my old Honda lump I found the M Tech V4 to be more than adequate, don't be put off by the Megasquirt name, its a pre built unit with superb back up from the guys that made it at M Tech Automotive. I believe they are doing a deal on them at the minute too Matt from there also has fitted and mapped a few of the F20's on that ecu too so will have a base map.

Will give them a bell tomorrow, do you know if this ecu can run the standard honda alternator and VVT?
    And thanks for that Jon

No worries mate, It can definitely run the VVT, just checked their website and the car I know they did is on there and sadly it doesn't run the Honda alternator

Certainly worth calling Matt, he is very helpful

    Re: Project Sunbeam

Well yesterday i finally got to pick up the sunbeam from Reading, First off thanks to Frank Mk2escortmadman for letting me borrow his late truck, Thank mate
Finally got look over the work that Neil (NTS) and Ralph(TVS) did for me whilst i was moving house. One very happy man, and cannot sing these guys praises enough, the attention to detail is second to none, and even though my car was finished Ralph stored my car in his mums garage until i collected it.

Now its back, i can fit the newly built axle, and when funds allow purchase a new ECU and loom (for the second time!!!! long story) and a set of ADJ TCA`s. Have a middle section made between back box and exhaust manifold i have.

Bleed brakes, clutch, Still need a gear lever as well, as a few other bits, but will now get this finished over the winter.

Got a few pictures, but there just of it on the truck, when i picked it up.

Neil, Ralph and Frank i salute you
