Hi all
I have an escort mk1 RS1600 bda engine (bdc 1700cc). I have installed an electronic ignition kit with distributor and a lucas amplifier (from Burton). The problem is that the installed tachometer is a Smiths RVI type current sensing pickup (with the wire loop on the back).
I tried to connect the current signal to the coil to the loop, the tachometer works but the rpm shown does not, for iddle (+ - 800 rpm) the tachometer shows approx 2500 rpm. I tried to adjust the plastic calibration screw in rear but it is not enough.
Any advise is welcome.
