Decoding my VIN what colour was/is my car?

So. I have been lurking about here for a while, mainly asking questions whilst i build a stock of parts for my planned car.

Last week i collected my car bought off of a facebook group in Croatia. 1970km round trip and i have what according to the croation log book is a '72 1300 first registered in '76 (and last used as a daily driver only 2 years ago!)

Im trying to decode the vin with the help of the classic ford guide and so far got its a left hooker with 1300HC engine, 2 door, 3.889:1 diff. Everything looks ok until....

Manufacture date LOOKS to me to be 970 in the VIN meaning september 1970? Also the colour is not listed in the decoding guide. Colour 6.

Can anyone help (especially with the colour)

970 does not refer to the date of manufacture, it's the last two letters of the VIN before the car serial number starts.

Thats great! And a lot clearer than the classic ford one.

Mine WAS made in November 72 then. That ties in with the Log book.

According to the book I have, a single number in the colour code denotes the year of manufacture

Colour code 6 would mean model year of 1976. 7 would be 1977 and so on

However, according to this http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=9ut2y1&s=3#.XKTqRC2ZO-o it could be Neptune Blue or Apollo Green

My car is definitely a Nov 72 and i knew some sort of green as under the uber thick, crazed brushed on faded red i can see metallic green. So i suspect Apollo green which is a new one on me. I want it Le Mans green eventually but Apollo is rather nice.
