    My daily drive....5.7ltr Monaro CV8

Hi all. This is my daily drive, a 5.7ltr Monaro CV8. I've been lucky enough to have had 2 Jag XK8s, a Jag XKR, various Mercs and Beemers but NOTHING, NOTHING comes close to the fun per £££ from this bad boy. I usually change car every 2 years but I've had her pretty much from new. She was the main dealers demo car and had 32miles on the clock when I bought her. The absolute GREATEST value for money in the history of cars!!! Love to hear from anyone who knows better...... Down here in Australia, you'd get abused for owning that. Its badged as an Holden and here you are either Holden or Ford.
My boss had a Holden Monaro GTO with a supercharger.....400+ BHP @ the wheels!!!! The original Monaros date back to 1968 here in Oz. They are worth about $120,000 or about 50,000 quid!!!

Personally I'd love one, Vauxhall / Holden or not, but with petrol at £1.15 a litre it'd bankrupt me

Very nice, TBH Vauxhalls or Holdens are not my bag, but you gotta appreciate those bad boys, its just a shame Ford havent jumped on the bandwagon and imported the falcon XR6T or XR8

Yes, I've looked at them. Still the same problem w.r.t. fuel consumption though

My old man has one of these too, amazing motors. Best bit is nobody expects the performance, real Q car.

The PAS coolers are a nightmare though, his just went and have to say was a massive pain in the arse to swap over! Apparently they are the most common issue on them.

Re: My daily drive....5.7ltr Monaro CV8

Hi all. Been a while since I posted due to house move, marriage breakdown etc. Well, got shot of the wife......but I STILL have the Monaro. Fuel economy isn't bad to be honest. On motorway drives (steady 80-85mph) I get 27 - 29 mpg. Round town??? Well, that's ANOTHER story lol.
Whooligan, I was raised in OZ....first 2 years in Qland then 10 more in Sydney NSW. That, along with Top Gear lol was my reasoning for buying one. Still the best "fun for pound" available.
