Question Can I powdercoat leaf springs?

Hi, quick question... Is it possible to powdercoat leaf springs or will all the coating come off when the spring moves up & down?

I would think it would crack the paint fella, you would be best getting some gloss paint on them, resists stone chips and is really flexible. Its what I coated mine in.

Id also be worried of the heat used to bake the powder, not sure what temp they use but if its high enough it could weaken the spring rate

Not sure if the heat would affect them much imo as its only about 200degrees in the ovens. Might do though.

I spoke to a local powder coater a while ago and he said as a general rule its not advisable to powder coat under car bits, purely due to them getting chipped and water/condensation getting under the coating and corroding so I'd steer clear just for that reason anyway mate.

Satin Black wet spray is the way I'm going with my Cossie bits and they look just as good as powder coat.

Hammerite smooth is as good as you will get I guess.

You will need thinners to clean any brushes..
