wiring translation!

hi, am in the processs of trying to wire in a corsa b wiper switch onto my mk1 escort. i have removed the connector block on rear of the stalk, and am faced with a few numbers designating every individual terminal,
31-earth?
53-feed?
53a-?
53b-?
53e-?
53h-?
W-?

just wondering if there are any whizzez out there that could enlighten me as to what goes where?
i am hoping i will be able to wire in intermittent relay for this.
any info greatly appreciated fellas!
