Pinto running twin 48’s - which fuel pump?

Hi guys, my fuel pump has decided to expire and before I just go and buy a straight replacement thought I might be better off asking if it’s really suitable for the job first!
    i had one of these

    http://www.webcon.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=48

Am I ok with this or should I be looking elsewhere? Spec of engine is very similar to the one Erikmex runs
    many thanks

    I’m thinking one of these

    https://www.burtonpower.com/facet-el...fac480532.html

    And one of these

    https://www.burtonpower.com/regulato...sefpr007g.html

    Might be a better solution?

The Webcon-link item is not suited for twin 48's.
I would fit the Facet Red Top pump and the Filterking.

Why not? Its spec's say 90 - 130 l/Hr which equates to approx 220 - 340hp at high / low pressure respectively. Obviously if the OP is outside those limits an uprated pump would be advisable. Big flow pumps are great but if you are just pumping quantities back to the tank it doesn't make sense to me?

Don't know where you got that conversion from flow to bhp from but in my experience that Webconlink-item is okay for a DGAV or twin 40's. (say 130 bhp). Then a Facet Silver Top pump for twin 45's and a Red Top for anything bigger.

    @ Miniliteman - er? Here . . .

Seems a reasonable rule of thumb!

I use to use a Solid State (the little square one) next to the tank as a lift pump to a filter king with a bowl and liquid filled pressure gauge then a red top ... 2.5-3 psi max .... i was runing 48 DCOE's ...

If you look at the rating Facet give for their pumps (approx. 4.5 bhp per gallon/min; 1.2 bhp per liter/min) then that is not even half as much as the 10 bhp per gallon/min that the tanksinc site gives.
You will know that rated flow can/will/is different to actual flow with pump at the rear, meters of hose.
Maybe I have "over-pumped" my engines for years !

Thanks for all the replies guys, despite the possibility of the Webcon item being ok, I’ve ordered the red top Facet and Filter King. I’m doubting it’s a coincidence that my previous engine running twin 40’s the Webcon pump was fine, yet a couple of months feeding a much more powerful engine on 48’s and it’s dead!!

I got a 2.3 16v scorpio engine. 2x45 dellortos has 195bhp and I just run a Facet fast road fuel pump, think it was 7 psi. and a regular fuel filter and nothing else. Engine Runs like this for more then 7 years. And I try to run it as hard as i can. Never a problem
