If you are going to use a mbe kit , then this will do all your ignition, you will still need to wire the starter and alternator and gauges, you may be able to adapt the cars original loom depending which car its going in

Yeah I agree , it's not essential as the new loom fits the important points like crank position eta, get it if u can it is useful but u will end up like me , loads left over
rust , rust and more rust,.....wait, wheres the rust gone now ?

    Re: engine wiring

You won't need the entire loom, just a few bits off it
The temp sender on the XE engine will need changing for a ford unit if you want to run the cars original temperature gauge.
One thing you will need is the oil pressure switch wiring plug.(any ecotec has the same plug) - single green wire)
Use the cars original trigger wire for the starter motor (run to solenoid on starter).
The MBE ign comes without a crank sensor, buy a new one - don't rely on the one that came with the engine.
Apart from that its a fairly easy install if you plan it out first.

I wired in a seperate fuse box for the MBE and oil / water temp / oil pressure gauges, and the push button start,. save relying on the original ford wiring

My car runs MBE ign on 48's

If you need any help just let me know
