    Aftermarket fuel gauge prob

    Hi got smiths fuel gauge in my mk2 mexico but dont think its compatable with sender as reads half full even when nearly empty.iv got it wired up via after market voltage regulator but still not correct.got smiths water temp as well and this does not even read anythink.any ideas?

    Unless you can test both gauge and sender so you know what resistance ranges they are and need etc....hard to answer.

    And again....you need some means of testing the water temp gauge, some sort of variable resistor etc to verify if it is even capable of working. Shorting the sender wire to earth might make the gauge do something ( or may not )
