    Porting / polishing cylinder head

    Ive done a bit of reading and decided to smooth out the rough casting marks in my inlet ports, ill match the inlet ports to the throttle bodies when i get them.

    Do you reckon its worth smoothing out the sharp edges around the valve seats?
    Its easy to do and i reckon id have it done in an hour.

    Is it worth enlarging the exhsust ports to match the gasket?

    Mirror finished combustion chamber or standard / rough?

    I have my good head sat on the table so if theres any benefit from the above i may as well do it now

    smoothing edges on valve seats wont do any harm, no point polishing chambers, in use they coke up anyway! the step in the exhaust can be a good thing especially on a road engine.

    its not a pinto! just a little too much grinding an easily make a duratec worse not better

    I reckon ill perhaps just smooth the sharp edges around the valves and leave it alone then 😁
