Escort MK2 Estate 1978 T reg 2.0 EFi Pinto Mot & Tax Type 9 box

]Ok, thinking about selling my project T reg 1978 Escort Estate.
First off, its Mot'd for around 8 months and Tax'd til end of feb.

Its had new rear arches, new front wings, new outer sills and some welding around front floors, inner wing tops etc so although a very "clean" looking car, its not mint at all.
(but extremly presentable)

It has been stored since 1993 and has various paperwork up to this date, including tax disc etc. Apparently the lady who owned it (only the second owner) ran it as a daily for around 10 years and then lost her job in 93 so its sat in there til 2 years ago where was found by her neighbour who I then bought it off. so only has 4 owners from new (the guy I got it from never had it on the road)

was originally a 1.3 xflow and 4 speed but was extremly underpowered. I mot & tax'd it and used it with the 1300 for a couple of months but couldnt cope. (a water leak made my mind up) so I scourced a 2.0 sierra sapphire efi with type 9 5 speed and put it all in the escort.

Ive cut and shut the sump, gearbox tunnel, and prop shaft (but is very out of balance so is not nice to drive at all) ive been eyeing up the ebay ones for £110 1 piece bolt straight on.

Ive replaced the oil and filter, cambelt, antifreeze, gearbox oil, paid £50 to have the leaking matrix rebuilt etc etc

I have modded a 4 2 1 manifold and have an rs 2000 clutch cable. Ive also added a brand new 3 piece clutch.

The block is a 205.

Ive also scourced an early "ford" round headlight grill rather than the oval badge type.

Ive added 4 rs (capri laser) type alloys on very good 185/60/13 tyres.
It has new rear shoes and cylinders, all new copper barke pipes and all electrics work, even rear wiper, rear demist and brake fluid level check.

all it needs to drive away is a prop shaft. (although the cut n shut one is fitted still)

We made a quick side exit pipe to check everything is all good with the running etc, checking for leaks so will need an exhaust knocked up from the end of the manifold.

all it needs to finish is a better interior (i have all seats and carpet etc but is not in great nick)

Now as you can see, I have put a lot of time and money into it with all the labour, new parts and scourcing stuff as its getting harder to find all these bits.

Its also mot'd and tax'd which is cool.

I'm going to ask £1995 and it owes far more than that but it is essentially a "drive away" car, albeit in need of a prop, an exhaust and a bit of tidying.

I also have the original 5 steel wheels with tyres, centre caps and bolts.

Thanks, i cant decide wether to buy a prop and refit the interior and use it, sell it, swap it for an rs turbo, sell it and my clio 54 reg and get a cossie or swap for another classic like a mk1 cortina.

Just an update. Ordered the new 1 piece prop from ebay for £123.95 delivered, direct fit, should be here for the weekend and fitted :-) looks like ill be having some fun in it then.

Rather than open another thread i have decided i am going to try to sell/swap all my vehicles as i really want a cossie or something cool and a fast bike or something that catches my fancy rather than all my stuff.

Im looking for £3500 which is extremly well priced for a T4, especially an 02 2.5 ajt. Got 13 mths mot, 2 new rear calipers, new cambelt, pump belt and tensioners, new fan belt and tensioners, new oil & filter, 186k, no previous owners, 9 seater minibus.
