First post, long time lurker.
Living out in the US currently, and have always had a hankering for a Mk2 Escort; I have finally purchased an unfinished project which is going in for it's final mapping session in a few weeks at Lloyds in Warminster.
To tide me over whilst I can't see or drive it, I was curious as to what people thought safe power might be?
I'm pretty clued on up a lot of Ford products (DFV's!) but not on a Zetec embarrassingly enough!
Spec on the engine is as follows:
ST170 block
Ported & polished black top head,
Focus RS headgasket
ST170 valvetrain
ARP bolts
Rover 600 turbo manifold, injectors and throttle body
3 bar map sensor
Cossie fuel regulator and pump
Custom exhaust manifold
Front mount intercooler
Garret T04/50AR hybrid turbo
Canems engine management
When I eventually get the car over to the US I have a Motec M800 ECU and CDL 3 dash here to go in, but for now I just want to get it up and running to have some fun with.
I'm also intrigued as to with something along the lines of carillo rods and pistons the engine could handle?
