    205/60 13 Tyres

Ive been searching but just don't seem to be able to find any decent tyres in this size. I remember 205/60 13 was the standard size for the 2.8 Inj capris and was always the desired size to run on 7" rims but it looks like 185's rule now but are too stretched for my liking on a 7"rim.

Any pointers would really be appreciated, looking for a good sport tyre but with wet weather capabilities.

Dunlop now make a 205/60R13 called the Sport Classic.
I have 2 Goodyear Eagle VR size 205/60R13 the original tyre for the Capri 2.8 with lots of thread left.

I'm running 205/60/13's Toyo 888's on my MK1 at the moment which is used as a track car BUT as Graham has said, they're not the best when it comes to water!!

I have my Kumho co3 for the dry but looking for wets for some 7” rims I have, the Dunlop’s look interesting but wonder if they would stand up to track work?
Thank you for the feedback on the Toyos, I see the single cut band but did think in wet that wouldn’t help much.

Do you want a tyre for the track? Or fastroad / sport?
    The Dunlop is a roadtyre.

Track, this is my problem, you just don’t seem to get any wet/intermediate tyres in this size.

    Re: 205/60 13 Tyres

lots of the track guys who dont use a proper race wet tyre use uniroyal rainsports, they are very good in the wet considering they are a normal road tyre, but again i dont think you can get them in that size

    Re: 205/60 13 Tyres

Not recently but i fitted some 205/60 to 7 inch rims on my anglia, but looking at them i thought they looked like balloons. So i fitted 185/60 instead and i didnt think they looked stretched at all, and i hate stretched tyres, coming from the vw community these days where they are quite popular..

    Re: 205/60 13 Tyres

I had 16/53 x 13 Michelin TB's on 7" rims they didn't look stretched, they're the equivalent of a 175/60 x13 but that was 25 years ago. I see you can get them again now but not cheap at nearly £275 a tyre.

    The next size up is 20/53 x 13 or equivalent of 225/45 x 13 and another £50 a tyre!!

    I totally agree with this!
I have 7" RS alloys with 205/60/13's and I can't stand the looks of them. I had 185/60/13's on before and thought they looked spot on
I'm now changing the wheels and tyres and the fronts are staying 7" and I'm fitting 175/60/13 Khumo V70's I think

I'll try and remember to take some pictures as they're already mounted on my new wheels
    Cheers

What's wrong with using tarmac rally tyres, expensive but a few to choose from, some sizes are an ideal fit for a 7" rim

    Re: 205/60 13 Tyres

Maybe that’s my error, my 7inch wheels have 185’s on now and when the wheel is placed flat the rim hits the floor not the tyre, plus like I said, the Capri 2.8i runs on 205’s and they looked fine.
I have thought of a sport tyre, Nanking do a 205, cheap too and with obviously lower speeds in the wet and less temps, maybe they’ll do.

Admittedly, I do get so much more choice with 185

    Re: 205/60 13 Tyres

I stuck to 6" for 185/60 and 8" for 205/60. The rim bit means you tend to get good at repairing kerb damage

    Re: 205/60 13 Tyres

I'm currently running Vredestein Sprint Classic in 205/60 and they are a great all purpose street tire, with good results on the track. I haven't done much driving in the wet, but they are highly rated.

    I've used some 215/50 R13 which is great on 7 " wheels.
    Found in France, brand Vitour

available in the UK here too. http://www.northhantstyres.com/radia...215-50-13.html

I have no idea what they are like but looked at them as an option for my car.

the white letters can be installed on inner side.
I used this on my unarched escort MK2, axle is shortened.
They are good, but not cheap in France.
They also do a 195/55 which were not on stock when I ordered mine.

    Jaysus they are expensive RR!!!
We used 16/53 TB 15's on 6 inch rims on our un arched Mk2 back in the late 80's. When we had our next car which was arched we ran 20/53's in both SB and TB. The only tyres I have left over now are a pair of PB's.

I have a similar problem to waverunner but with 7 x 15 wheels, wanting to run Tarmac / Road tyres that's capable of passing an MOT and are something like legal on the public Highway.

Avon zzs 185/55 fit on a 7 and any moulded tyre that complies with construction and use regs is road legal, e marked or not.
