MK1 Escort Gartrac Strut brace question

    Hello All

This might seem like a silly question but which way round do the Gartrac bolt on strut brace towers/plates go?

Do the uprights go to the front of the car or the rear??
    Cheers

Depends if you have a downdraft carb to avoid!

I don't but are they made to be universal then?
They kinda appear to be able to be fitted either way but it's hard to tell

I'd be surprised if it matters tbh... It's a shell stifferner at the end of the day, as long as it's between the top mounts I doubt an inch or 2 either way would make any difference.

I would tend to agree but if they're made to go a certain way then I'd prefer to fit them that way as I have no interference issues

They are bi directional to allow for any carb set up - why have two different pieces / assemblies to make and stock for a very niche market, when one will do both jobs! Do you wake up to make sure you haven't lost any sleep? LOL!

And that makes perfect sense and is obviously a good idea, I just wanted to confirm that was true as by just offering the brackets up to my car, it seems one way works better than the other but that might just be me

I don't really get what you're trying to say here or the context in which you mean it but it seems to have made you laugh so I'll leave it at that

The weld on ones go infront of the struts when viewed from the front of the car. It makes sense to fit your bolt on ones in the same place.
