Hi Duel,
I'm new to this forum and just found this thread, and I've gotta say I'm blown away by what you're doing. As with a lot of petrol-heads I've got a lot of "castle in the sky" projects in my head, and if I ever get a decent sized workshop and the money I dare say I might even start some of them, but the Zakspeed Gruppe 5 Capri is THE ultimate build for me, and not a crappy 1.6 with some bits of cardboard stuck to it, but a full blown replica like yours.
The reason for posting thought (other than just virtual jaw-dropping) is to ask where you found the plans for the space frame? I'm guessing that as you already said that you want to make a proper 100% authentic replica that you didn't just get a load of box-section and make it up as you went along!! Are such things available anywhere fairly "open" or did it take a lot of contacts and cash to get hold of them? And if they ARE fairly easily available could you be persuaded to share their location?!
My next question is a little embarrassing as it involves money, I hate asking people about money, especially complete strangers but I was hoping you could maybe give a HINT at a ball-park figure of what you expect the whole build to cost? I mean, are we talking £20-£50k, £50-£100k or are we into quarter-million pound territory? I'm no millionaire but I'm not an absolute pauper either, but without your experience of chasing genuine parts around Europe I wouldn't even know where to start at putting a figure on how much it'd all cost, so I really want to weigh up just exactly how much of a dreamer I'm being by even CONSIDERING a project like this.
Anyway I've got this thread saved now in eager anticipation of some more stunning pictures of your build. All the very best with it!!

It's been a while since the last update , I couldend find the time to work on de Capri and It also took a long time before I did got the BBS rimhalves needed for pre-fittment with dummy engine and gearbox.
This is the first time the car in on it's wheels to check if anything must be changed...nothing has to be changed Suspension geometrie , shockabsorbers lenghts , wheel spacing , ride height eveything is spot on.
I had to change from 19"to 18"on the rears to get the proper tyres.
In the meantime I finished the gearbox and most of the engine work just waiting for the new crankshaft to arrive.

Hi Duel,
I'm looking to build a Zakspeed spec as per homologations or a mk1 3.0 cologne to race in Europe. Your car looks really good. Would you be willing to share any info/drawings/pics. Do you race yours? sbrmotorsport@aol.com
Updates ...
.
Small update , just placed the engine and gearbox before the final welding now busy to place all brackets etc , alloy sheets inner fenders and gearbox tunnel.
The engine still hasn't been on the dyno , while fitted into the chassis I can find the right spot for the wastegates.
Fabricated the pedalbox as the original one with a original clutch pedal ..don't trust hem so I made the brake pedal of CrMo
Amazing,
.
