    Spraying dash parts

    Hi,

My Mk2 Escort has a brown dash pad and switchgear / steering column plastics and i prefer the black look. Has anyone resprayed these black with plastikote etc? Not keen on flocking, would prefer to spray.

I have done the hard plastics using Halfords Plastic Primer and then Simoniz Tough Satin Black, they look OK to me. I prepped them by rubbing down using a green Scothbrite soaked in Panel Wipe.

Not sure about the dash top, on a Mk1 it looks like a Vinyl Material laid over a hard sponge base.

Thanks Tony, I may be able to do the dash top in flexible vinyl satin black paint. Its in really good condition and second hand ones are a fortune now!
