Did you tell JBW that you had the grp 4 studs before ordering?
Hi Matt, no as I thought a GRP4 rim would be made to suit a GRP4 stud. There is really no other options. The minilite has 32mm from rear to from of insert. These are only 22mm so the shank of the Stud sticks through and then the thread. The nuts can't be tightened on the rim.
You need to tell them what nuts your using. ie group4, standard etc
What size are the rims? if yours are 13x7 offset 0 to suit standard studs id been keen on them also in aust
Hi mate, I have been building GRP4 Escorts for 20 years. My cars are in every state of Australia. I have also been buying GRP4 Rims from the UK for that same period and never once have I ever been asked what studs I'm using. Even a standard wheel nut won't fit as there is 5 mm of shank protruding through with no threads. These are 13 x 8 zero offset. * emails now and no even one reply. Disgraceful. I only tried them as my normal supplier is shut for holidays.
Cheers Rob
would they work with tapered nuts? post some photos
I'm not sure how to do this from my phone
From a different point, i got some JBW 4 spokes and i am just having them machined to take Grp4 Inserts
Revolution GP4 fitment wheels are 31.37mm from the back of the wheel to the front of the insert.
There are 4 ways of getting round your problem The first and easiest way is to use a narrow wheel spacer has Kat as already suggested. The second thing is to have your shanks turned down on your wheels studs which you probably don't want to do. The third thing to do is have some thicker inserts made by a machine shop and last but not least is to ditch the wheels in favour of some that are the correct dimension.
I have never dealt with JBW as I always believed their wheels were for the Boy Racer market and not a serious competition wheel,it looks like that may be the case.

I had a set of JBW Minilights and they were junk, they wouldnt balance and they wouldnt exchange them
I would of thought you would need to stipulate either standard or Gp4 studs when ordering any wheel? I have seen standard wheels drilled and sleeved so Gp4 studs fit but the centre of the wheel is thinner than a Gp4 one.
One of the main differences is that standard have thread almost the whole length but Gp4 don't,so the wheel centre needs to be a certain thickness to fit, hence, you would always need to order a specific Gp4 wheel.
