    Gartrac pedal box

    Hi there,

Just installed a gartrac bias box in my mk2. I’ve noticed that the drivers side cylinder is .7 and the middle is .625
Gartrac state the .625 is for the front but I’ve always thought the front cylinder is on the drivers side?
This would mean I’d need to change the rotation of the bias adjuster as my other box was the other way round?
Has anyone got any tips for bleeding it once installed? I’m also running a hydraulic handbrake.
    cheers

Usually the front master is offset less than the rear when compared to the centreline of the pedal - the reasoning is more pressure is 'biased' toward the front which can be adjusted by moving the rose bearing on the bar. I didn't do anything different as regard bleeding - furthest first, nearest last.

    Re: Gartrac pedal box

I have just installed the same and noticed that the M/C's are that way too. Front (.625) is left and Rear (.7x) is right. My old pedal box was the other way around. Out of interest, did anyone screw the bias right over to the rear, when doing the rears and vice versa for the fronts. Can't remember what I did when I did it last time......

usually front is fitted on the right but it really doesn't matter.

i dont touch the bias when bleeding my brakes, but i do have to push harder when bleeding the rears

On some occassions it might be better to open the front and rear bleed nipples at the same time so the pedal goes full stroke to the floor if you are n't pressure bleeding. I have known people to bend the balance bar when pressing too hard.

Agreed, an old friend of mine managed to do that years ago.
