    Xflow ignition timing problems

I’ve just fitted a new 1600 xflow engine to my cortina but I carnt get it to start.
i have seen the engine running before I bought it and the only thing I have fitted new is a dizzy.
    i have spark and fuel.
    god compression and oil pressure

I have set the engine to tcd and cylinder number( I was 180 degrees out at first)
fitted the dizzy as per the manuals instructions so the rota arm is pointing up point to number 1 h/t lead
fitted dizzy cap and leads with the correct firing order (1243)
    new leads ,plugs ,cap etc.
    good spark at the plugs
    plugs are wet
    but it won’t run??
    thanks Paul.

wet plugs wont fire inside an engine!

pointing the rotor arm at no 1 cylinder isnt close enough! if its on points you might have the dizzy set with the points closing not opening so the timing will be massively retarded
