    Floor panels

after 35 years of abuse the floor of my mk2 is a bit battered, patched etc.
i was thinking of treating it to a new floor, anyone fitted either of these and how close are they to original,do they fit

half floors might be easier to fit with the cage being there, and i have a big transmission and prop tunnel to weld too,
magnum one looks better pressed if it fits.

Just in the process of fitting half floors and chassis rails from expressed panels apparently pressed from an original ford panel, taken a lot of hours to fit due to a weld in roll cage but fitted well in the end.

No idea on how good Magnum but I'm sure there will be answer from others soon

that looks pretty good eric, does the panel need pushed up in that pic to meet the outer sill.
i have the weld in cage too and the sill tubes which go through the inner panel to the cage, did you cut up the old floor to remove

Yes, it was not in its final position the sill needs to be brought in to the floor but it is minimal. Had to cut out the sill stand tubes as it was near impossible to fit the floor, the floor was cut up in sections as this shell had repair sections fitted really a crap job, for me, it was easier to fit the floor as the middle chassis rail needed to be replaced.

yip same as mine,i think i will do away with the sill tubes as i never use them, once the panel is in are you going to use a box for the foot of the cage

    Re: Floor panels

Hi, I fitted a full magnum floor panel and large tunnel. Very straight forward once the old floor is out, but i don't have a welded in roll cage to work around. have a look on my restoration thread, plenty of pics and detail on the job.
The panel was within mm of the original, so I'd say a good choice if you take that road, and Tim at TJ Motor sport is the man to talk to for magnum panels.
    all the best

    Re: Floor panels

i have got the expressed half floor panels,no chance off a whole floor panel going in with a weld in cage
pressing dimensional looks ok but not as defined as the original
only problem now is some tit seam welded it 30 years ago

Got to love a bit of seam welding, mine was done in the early 80's
