The filler work and primer should be done by the end of the week so she should be in her final Midnight Blue over coat by next week.
Not long now.
Well, after a long wait for a slot in the bodyshop things are finally moving along now. Went to see how the old girl is getting on today and I am very pleased with the results so far. The shell should be ready for collection mid next week and then the fun part of putting it back together.
Enjoy the pictures.

Hi Chaps.
Just like to say a big thank you to all of you who have liked my facebook page so far https://www.facebook.com/www.Autoresto.co.uk . As you may or may not know I am starting up my own vehicle restoration company this year and I really appreciate the support from this forum and its members. I've had a few enquiries to date so I'm looking forward to putting some more old classics back on the road.
The RS has had some delays in the body shop but I have been told this morning she will be ready for collection the early part of next week. I will get some more pictures up soon.
I have also been busy reproducing some hard to find replacement parts which may help someone who is restoring a MK2 Escort. These are now available on ebay.

Hats off to you on this one.
Looking at the shots of the shell just after paint, compared to the first pics in this thread, there is one hell of a transformation
It was looking through these threads on TurboSport that inspired me in the first place to get started on my RS2000 resto.
Looking through your thread has now inspired me to push on and get back on it.
Really looking forward to the pics of the shell back from the painters and you pushing on with the build.
Congrats on starting your own business as I am sure that anyone will be comfortable with there pride and joy being restored by you.
GREAT STUFF
Haven’t posted for a while as ive been busy with other projects but he are some pictures of the RS going back together.
Looking good pal!!
Great out in the sunshine..............get a real feel for the midnight blue.
looking forward to MOT day for the RS and the next project to come in
Absolutely amazing transformation there Red! Top work.
Can I be cheeky and ask for some advice? I'm about to finally start cutting and welding mine. I've searched these forums for information on steel thicknesses but can't find a definitive answer. The thickness quoted all over TS is either 0.9mm 1.0mm 1.2mm or even 1.6mm. I understand you might use 1.6mm on chassis and structural areas but what did you use on the other areas such as the bits on the floor pan?
