    4 Spoke JBW Alloys

Needing a little advice on wheel widths and offsets for my Mk1 2 door.

It has standard rear arches and axle, and the previous owner fitted new JBW 7" 4 spoke replicas, which have a +6 offset and Yokohama A539 185/60 13s on.
Even after removing the lowering blocks which were fitted, the tyres still rub off the lip of the arches.
I'm going to roll them, but don't think that will be enough.
If I buy 6" wheels, which offset should I go for +16 or +30 ?

I'm thinking that the +16 would fill the space better, and with the 1" narrower wheel and the offset increased by 10mm, they should be fine.

    What do you think ?
Is anyone else running the same ?

    Any advice, appreciated.

+16 is nearer the standard 6 inch RS 4 spokes +19 offset. +30 is more of a front wheel drive offset and will push the wheels further inboard-so +16 with 185's would fit nicely I reckon.

Also remember offsets are only relative when the rims are the same width-a 6 inch rim with offset of +19 doesn't have the same backspace as a 7 inch rim with +19 - you have to halve the width difference (in inches) and take that away from offset to get same backspace per inch.
So a 7 inch rim has 1 inch extra width-half that (in mm) so 12-13mm - taken away from standard 6 inch offset (+19mm) =ET+6 or +7mm (which is what the replica 7inch 4 spoke is). All the extra width then goes on the outside.

    Thanks meXEco

Arithmetic says I have approx. 83mm from the mounting face to the outer edge of the 7" wheel (with 6mm offset), so with a 6" wheel (with 16mm offset), the distance becomes only 60mm, which gives nearly an inch difference.
Hopefully, with rolling the arches and the narrow wheels, it'll solve the problem.
