am i still picking it up next week for you boss
PMSL I've had a "should have gone to specsavers moment" have'nt I. Good to see its being worked on Stu
The Snowdonia Tour is looming very quickly and I'm not missing another tour, I've missed far too many events this year!!
great build mate but this isn't making much sense, if your getting fuel and your getting a spark and its all sparking and fueling at the right time and you have compression then it should run. try turning it over with some throttle open with someone squirting abit of easy start down the carbs, let me know what happens as the out come should narrow things down abit.
its not dead till it's buried!

Thanks for the advice mate, I have been been checking the timing on this and if I time the cams up at tdc, then turn the crank by hand, the cam springs out by about 15deg. I have been told that I need to pressurise the VVT to ensure it holds the cam timing! That's the next step, I'll keep you posted.
Cheers
Stew
you could just scrap the vvt altogether, i've hurd thats what alot of people do with thiers.

I didn't realise it's been so long since I posted about this. I decided to take the car over to Chester Sports Cars as he'd assured me they would get it running for me as I couldn't find the fault and the Snowdonia Tour was looming the following week.
They had the motor running after an hour! The fault lay in the wiring that a so called expert had done.................
It wasn't possible to set the motor up on the RR as the guy was away, but a good MegaJolt map was installed to get me going on the tour. I picked the car up last Tuesday and 5 miles out, the cam belt tensioner bearings collapsed, shredding the belt and jumping 2 teeth on the inlet pulley.
Big G towed the car back to a mates garage where we checked what the damage was and fortunately it was just the belt and tensioner, which were ordered up, fitted Thursday night in prep for the tour the following day. So the cars first test was a 500 mile rag around North Wales...........awesome! She made it with no issues and is back in the good books!

Not surehow much difference it will make, but couldn't see a breather outlet on the cam cover, I moved mine to the side, same location as a silver top.
I had the original breather outlet at the back of the head, but prior to having it powder coated (Thanks 4parajon) I'm moving the outlet to the left side, as you say, the same as the silver top.
I decided to change the colour of the cam cover, a little too much yellow in the bay, so once again a huge thanks to 4parajon who not only moved the breather to the left side but powder coated the cover for me with a black crinkle finish.
That looking lovely bud nice job.
Looking good Stu, very tidy
