whats the difference between mk1 2 door doors (i know the early/late deal) and mk1/mk2 estate or van doors. cheers.

The interior handles are different, the outside door locks are bigger on the later ones.

will they fit a mk1 saloon ? are the outer handles adaptable ? any reason they wont convert basicaly?

I think they fit ............ you can adapt the inner to take a early door release handle, the outer is just the diameter of the key lock so you could fit later locks ?

i think the van / estate doors are shorter, like the 4 door doors, i think if you can get somone to mesure sizes for you

i think he means they are shorter than the 2 d saloon. van and estate are the same.

99.9 % sure they are not shorter ....................... we fitted estate doors on my brothers mk1 Rs2000 some years ago

I've got a MK2 van door on the n/s of my MK1. All I had to do was cut the inner door handle section out of knackered MK1 saloon door and weld it in, otherwise it was identical.
