    Conrod to crankshaft side play.

    Hi.

This isn't my first post, but the first with my new moniker after losing my login details.

How much side-play between the connecting rod big-end and the crankshaft is acceptable? I've found a set of rods that will work for my project, but the big end width is 0.13mm less than the original rod. My gut feeling is that it won't make any difference, but best to check first.

    Cheers Chris.

Thats very little it wont make any difference, if you worried you could even thin the rods down that much with a sheet of wet and dry and a flat surface

In theory this will slightly affect the oil pressure, but i don't think this will have a dramatic effect. Just keep an eye on the oil pressure at the first time....

theoretically it could increase oil pressure slightly, but at the expense oil oil flowing away from the bearing
