Corsa electric steering
Hi all,
is is there much of a difference in corsa b or c power steering for use in a mk2? Corsa b power steering is very difficult to get hold of unless you pay lots of money. I have been offered a cheap corsa c setup and so wondered if there is any probs with them?
also what bits do I need for the conversion?
thanks

Re: Corsa electric steering
The differences I know of between the B and C is they have the motor on opposites sides. The B has the motor on the left and the C on the right as you look at it from the drivers seat. The C is the later of the 2 so you would hope it's been refined a bit more. Ideally you want all the steering joints and the full column right down to the rack. You can make use of as many bits as you need then.

According to my findings the motor is on the same side, the C unit was an upgrade on the B due to failings on the worn gear which did have consequences of the possibility of a total lock up. Not that I’ve heard of one doing that mind.

Thanks for the replies, that’s a great help. I read somewhere that they have a ecu controlling them too. Where is the best place to buy an adjustable unit to do you can change how powerful it is?
Thanks

Re: Corsa electric steering
You can buy a control knob off the likes of eBay about £25. They come with all instructions on wiring, some complete with all the wire needed and some don’t. Just read the item description to see what you get for your money. Easy enough to install.
