    which body filler

    Guys,
want to do a bit of car park ding filling on the subaru prior to paint.
In Oz I know what Id buy but cant see it available here in the UK. looking for a glaze or finishing putty for use over paint to fill those small dings and scratches. also after a professional grade easy sand lightweight filler for a few deeper dents over reinforcing panels (which means I can't get behind them to lever out).
What have you used and can you recommend.

    cheers,

    JP

I think it is actually called "Easy" filler.
I used some Halfords finishing putty once, i won't be doing that again. It sets harder than dried on Weetabix.

This is the filler to use. I find it very easy to work with, as the name suggests.
After getting it to shape i then mix some fibreglass resin with it to make a much creamier mix. Use this for the last layer and you can't even tell there is filler there. Also gets rid of any air bubble holes from previous layers.
As for a decent putty, I don't know. I would probably just use the resin/filler mix if I was doing it.

Thanks guys, trying a few of those products now.
Roger your right, 3M stuff is good happy to try local stuff, that is readily available if it works.
and to be honest this is just to get the car in one color, If I keep it when we return to OZ it will get a new color

    cheers again.

It might well be that i just don't know how to use it properly, but it was damned hard to get it sanded back. It sets way too hard IMO.
I guess setting hard is a good thing, but it is difficult to sand.
