Ford Escort 1600 (kent) FIA Homologation

I am currently in the process of apply for a FIA pass for my escort to take part in FIA rally event in Germany and Czech Republic. I could only find GRP 1 Homolgation documentation from the FIA. The car is modifed ( slightly#9 and is raod legal in Germany for a valid MOT . As per FIA GRP 1 regulation rear seats must be installed in the car which is currently due to the roll cage and safty equipment installation( fire extinguisher ) is not possible .

I would like to if my interpreation of the regualtion is correct or is there a FIA homolagtion for the Escort mk1 1600 which is a bit more flexible .

    Any help is appreciated

cant help really, but im sure ive seen rear seats squashed into a car despite the cage.

thinking about it, we put the rear seats back in my mk2, the diagonal meant they were not really usable, definitely not on the passenger side, but they were in there

Here you can find a list of all homologations from the FIA:
    http://tech-racingcars.wdfiles.com/l...GATION_Nos.xls

Probably No. 5455 of the Mk1 Mexico could help you.
Also, here is a list of AppendixJ files:

If your roll cage is similar to the Safety Devices type then there should n't be a problem fitting rear seats in your Mk1 Escort unless the back stays have been modified. Road Rally cars have to be fitted with rear seats unless the Rules have changed as did Group N cars.

Seats can be modified (holes etc.) where the cage passes trough. But must be in the car in Grp.1... In ´80 technical comissioners accepted our cars in Grp.1 with lower part of seat was mounted verticaly together with back part of the seat. But it had to be there. Don´t confuse it with group N, there were other regulations that specified what could be removed.

Mexico was homologated in Grp.1 under number 5455 and in Grp.2 under number 1614. What is interesting, Ford made homologation for Grp.1 one year later than Grp.2. (May ´71 and May ´72). Mostly the cars was homologated for Grp.1 firts and Grp.2 was evolution, same as Escort RS2000 homologation 650 in Grp.4 and Grp.B (transfer).

    650 Homologation was for a non-existent car - the Escort RS - effectively a 2 litre RS1800. The RS2000 was only ever Grp 1 and Grp 2
