CAD / DRAWING -----------ESCORT MK2----(.STEP, fomant)

    Good morning
I OPEN THIS POST, first I want to introduce myself, I am Eugenio and I live in Spain (Vigo) I am a big fan of rallies and especially the Ford escort Mk of which I have 2 units.

The idea of opening this post is that I don't get cad to build the pieces and modify them for my escort. I've been manufacturing and designing many for them for many years, that's why I propose here that we join together and generate a bestial cad file among all.

I put pictures of what I have,

Very nice drawings. I totally missed this new technology.

BTW, if you fit carbs, fast cams and a "cold air intake " as the one I see in the drawings, it will not make power, it should be a lot larger in volume, I'm talking about 2, 3x bigger. Somewhere between 15 and 20 liter large. The larger the better.

I won't bother with the cold air intake then, I thought it might improve things at least a little...

Slightly confused with that? I understand the large plenum / still air principle but surely if you can provide a fairly large volume of cooler air that will have a degree of 'ram effect' it will be better than drawing air from the engine bay? Looking at the drawn plenum it looks similar in size to a Ramair or ITG type foam filter that are widely used and no one tends to complain of their power limiting potential (although with no 'contained' volume at all). I've always understood the 2-3x volume rule applies to individual cylinder capacity not engine as one one cylinder is drawing air at any one time - so total capacity of 1 - 1.5L even 2L would be about right and more manageable!

Well it isn't. For some reasons, and you can try to make a theory about it by I rather don't, air filters, preferable also large, have a lot less influence on this problem. Problem, well I don't see a reason to explain because my theory may be totally wrong but I can tell you, if you take a power graph on a real dyno with this kind of small plenum and a set of KxN (or ITG) you will notice a big difference, usual at lower to mid RPM range.

Good post this I write is not to discuss whether or not the air box is better, I already have it built in carbon fiber and I have been running with it for years and it goes very, very well, it shows a lot

The theme of this post is to know if we can build a very large, bestial file (cad, drawing) from all over the world, and that each one of us fence improving their carsClick image for larger version Name:	k-RylIbj.jpeg Views:	90 Size:	86.1 KB ID:	84850Click image for larger version Name:	18425272_10154433375305404_5146219618037862848_n.jpg Views:	90 Size:	123.2 KB ID:	84851

Hi Eugenio, is it possible to get the 3D drawing of engine bay and crossmember from you please?
