    C3 oil cooler

Hello all,I've finally treated myself to a Capri, but, the radiator has burst open. As you may know, the auto box oil is cooled down by the radiator. I could have the existing radiator rebuilt. Or,just use a standard rad,and fit a remote cooler instead. Your thoughts most appreciated.
    thanks

Personally I would just go for having yours rebuilt.

Saves all the extra work of having to mount a separate oil cooler and all the related plumbing that will inevitably have to go with it too.

Sorry if I take the opposite opinion for following reasons.
A - with combined cooler, a leak in either compromises cooling. B - Oil coolers are very rarely repaired due to the contamination - rad guys hate them with a vengeance! C - A seperate oil cooler with a stat can be separately controlled giving better temp control. D - The plumbing is already there just needs some adaption & brackets making. E - a single function water rad will have bigger core size and be cheaper to buy / build - standalone oil coolers are pennies in comparison!

Thankyou gents. I am already sold on the idea of a separate oil cooler.

All very valid points I hadn't considered. That's why I'm not an Engineer, the hobbist in me just looked for the easiest option.
