    Anything is possible !!!

It will need to be a rod type door lock to do it easily.

Ive converted 3 MK1s to have central locking, why bother with the sierra system though when there are loads of good quality aftermarket systems available new for less than £30?

A word of warning, early MK1s with the lock in the handle are a bitch to convert, you need to modify the door handle mechanism which is easier said than done. The later ones with the separate lock barrel are easy. To do it properly you will need to take the doors off to drill a hole in the A-post and door frame for the wires to pass through safely.

If you connect the siren etc. up on one of those type alarms you will have no end of problems, i get phone calls all the time about them.

I would stick to a straight forward central locking kit with no alarm, you would then be looking at connecting 2 or 3 wires back into the car.

There were some cheap remote one's on ebay that wasnt too bad although the remotes wern't the best.

If you wanted a alarm i would stick to using a pro system such as Cobra, Autowatch, Clifford, Toad and getting someone like myself to install it so you get your full warranty etc. unless you good with car electrics.

What Savvi said, I've fitted Cobra bridge alarms and had no problems with them. Interfaced to a stand alone central locking kit the system works beautifully.

Thumbs up for the cheapo ebay systems. Had them in a few previous cars. Lock all the doors when you press the drivers lock down from inside too!

Nice and clunky when you press the button, so at least you know it's locked/unlocked.
