    XR3i alternator bracket/mount - Zetec/CVH?

I am hoping that the collective "Turbosport Wisdom" can help me here.

16 years ago I dumped an 1800 Zetec into a MK2 Escort on a student budget (ie: for nowt). I robbed and borrowed everything, but was not sensible enough to keep notes. The guy that sorted the Ford ECU for me asked why I had used and butchered the CrossFlow alternator bracket/mount. The next time I saw him he gave me a bracket/mount that bolted straight onto the Zetec block.

This was 16/17 years ago, but I am sure that he said it was off an XR3i. Would anybody know if the very late XR3i's had Zetec motors , or could it have been from a very late CVH engined XR3i, and happened to fit a Zetec mounting holes ????

Lots of people seem to be looking for a solution to this, hence I think this is worth following up

This guy had worked in the parts department of a Ford Main Stealer and was a fountain of knowledge. I have looked for him on every Ford associated forum/site that I think relevant, as I am sure plenty here could use his help. Unfortunately I cannot seem to contact him again

    Regards
    Jon

certainly the mk3 and 4 xr3i were cvh, not sure if the xr3i lived on as a mk5 escort but if it did it prob did have a zetec, that said i think your find a late cvh alternator bracket fits the zetec anyway as the blocks have many simularites

looks like it, look on my mk2 thread and theres pics of how i modded it to fit with the engine mounts. if you use r.f. mounts you will need to cut 10mm from the front spacers as they bolt thro the alt. mnt.
