    Thumbs down 32/36 DGAV v 32 DFM

    Hi all

i have a question about the 32/36 DGAV that I have bought to replace a 32 DFM
I could do with your help or advice
The reason I bought it was because I was informed it was more suitable for my 1600 crossflow
    i haven’t fitted it yet
The model numbers mean it should have a water activated choke. However, from the pictures below, it seems that there is no choke unit or any choke flaps (don’t know the proper name)
is this carb likely to work properly with the choke missing. Why would it be missing?
Without the choke, is this carb pretty much useless. Could it be retrofitted
Would I be better using the 32 DFM which I know does work

Apologies. A lot of questions and would appreciate your knowledge / expertise

    many thanks

    Paul

yes all the choke operating mechanism and the flaps have been removed. that gives a small increase in airflow through the carb, you can use it without the choke, you just need to pump teh rotlle a few times to fire it up from cold, and warm it up a bit before driving off

    Are you sure it's a 32/36 DGAV and not a 32 DGV?
You need to trim the gasket as it will impair airflow.

    Thanks Graham / Miniliteman

I will probably stick with this then and pump throttle to get it warm
Regarding the question, it’s definitely DGAV Or so it has been stamped on side
Actually says 32/36 DGAV3D3 with a serial number of 044023
I See what you mean about the gasket, will have to get that done

    Thanks lads
