    Generic Weber 38 DGAS

Hi guys. I've seen on EBay someone from Hong Kong selling China-made Weber 38 DGAS. When I searched deeper, I found they were the exact copies of the original Italian-made Weber model. Has any one tried using them on their cars? Are they any good? They are cheaper than the original, that's for sure. Appreciate all responses. Thank you.

My experiences with these carburetors. Just as you can expect, they do have small errors but I can say exact the same for Weber. Webers also have problems that need to be solved. About the functions, once "rebuild" they can be correct tuned. I never start with standard carbs out of the box so I don't know how well they perform straight away. Again, this is the same for original Webers.

The only drawback I've found, they are not build from aluminium as Webers, they use Zamac. Many carbs where made from Zamac but these carbs are VERY bridle. The casting is just strong enough to stay together. If you push or pull too hard, changes are big the casting will let go. If you start machining, it's possible you just loose the part you wanted to modify.

I haven't tried all suppliers but the one I had in where all about the same, poor quality Zamac and there is little you can do about it.
