Do I need to deck the block when I use the v6 pistons?

    Re: 2.1 pinto

I’m beginning to wonder if I’m cheaper just going for The correct rods and pistons for the 2.1 rather than all the farthing about not sure if it will work out the same price when taking all the machining into consideration

    Re: 2.1 pinto

What size V6 pistons are you using? You'll need to use 93.5mm to get a true 2100cc that'll actually give you just over at 2113cc. You wont ever get another rebuild should you need one out of that block bored to 93.5mm. 93mm will give you 2090cc and 92.5mm will give you 2068cc.

Mines got 93.5mm pistons and I won't ever bore another block to 93.5mm.

my advise is just to rebore to whatever size the block needs to make it good again unless you are trying for really big cc with a stroker crank, power gain from boring to 2.1 will be minimal

I have been there done that and all the rest of it with a 93mm bore both with Pinto and NA Cosworth engines many years ago. The hassle we had with getting the correct pistons and head gaskets was unbelievable back then and it wasn't worth what little bit of extra power was gained, if any. + 40 thou pistons should be plenty for your rebuild. Leave 93mm pistons where they belong back in the dark ages!
