    Inner wing to chassis leg

    Hi all.

Basically im replacing the front of my mk1 escort 3dr.
Put new chassis legs on rally spec ones and offered inner wing up to it and it the gap between is about 3/4 of an inch but measurment are good. Any tips? Anyone had same problem?

    Mr pedantic here - mk1's are either 2 or 4 door - never 3 or 5 door!
Chassis legs are chassis legs (there have never been 'rally spec' ones) and all new ones are pretty much reproductions, likewise inner wings - not fitting is not surprising, they are either ....... not so bad or badly fitting depending on where they are sourced - 'Expressed' are apparently of better quality but I can't vouch for that claim!

Hi, don't worry too much about the gap you have on initial fitting. When you say rally spec chassis legs, is that the Motor Sport Tools legs ?
Have a look on my rebuild thread. It's a mk2, but fitting will be the same. I replaced the complete front end and have plenty of pictures and detail on what I did. Feel free to drop me a line if you want any more info.
