    Back from only page 7

Well I'm growing ever more p!$$ed with this project now which ain't so good, too many dead lines not being completed and there ain't much I can do!!!!

Anyway rant over, there has been some if not a lot of progress and it looks like this.....

The back end has now been put in and welded (but not finished ) and the boot aligned (I know it will need doing again and again but it fits) and its not too bad seems its had another section put in that included the boot internals, parcel shell etc and under rear window panel. The boot floor was replaced for one that wasn't so thin lol and a new rear panel on.

With that part in, the attensions have been turned to the floor which is best discribed as a patch work doilie

I bought all of the panels in the sections but the floor had holes behind the rear seat crossmember and as it's all taking so fecking long I thought stuff it and bought me one of these at great expence but they do look good and it'll be better than welding up the individual panels

Hopefully it'll fit with not too much messing about

So with this delivered (very quikly I must say) we started about cuting out the old patch work (I will say at this point all the crud cut out of the car so far it'll be a few 100kg's lighter when finished)

Can you see what Phil blagged from the guy next door

    And so the cutting began

And the first test piece cut out

All the excitement was short lived though as it seemed a somewhat temperamental buggar and either tripped or constatntly arced followed by it dieing then arcing again followed by tripping (always works fine for the guy who owns it) so it was back to the trusty angle grider

At which point I saw my bum and left

To say I'm a little dissapointed would be a HUGE understatement for me theres far to much bouncing around from one part to anaother and nothing seems to be finished before another part is started????? Oh well it'll be done one day or a failure thats counts a fecking fortune
When I grow up I will have a MK1 Escort

I must be all growed up now then and paying for it!

i remember getting really pissed off several times with my mark 1 during its 2 year resto. i would just say sod it close the garage and leave it. for a week or a month [depending how pissed of i was] and forget about it then come back with renewed enthusiasm. then get stuck in and make some good progress. you just need to stick with one thing at a time finish it then move on to the next bit. that way you see the whole thing moving along forward.
it will get there in the end!

Thanks mate I've just been reading your resto and thought I should give it a go myself but I don't have the space at the moment so I'm stuck plus having given it to a mate to do it's a rock and a hard place as I don't want to pee him off but I want to get stuck in and get it done. Your making great progress and I love the have a go yourself ideas but I'm stuck so I mite even go and have a go at the mk2 that's stuck in the misses garage as I wanted to go CF in a ford for once

Re: Special K - Not the two week challenge!!!!

Well after having the MK2 for a little while and loving it specially in this nice weather we're having at the moment and a little scare of redundancies at work which for now seems to have done a full 180, I have decided I want the MK1 done so some recent purchases (hopefully the last to get it to a complete shell) have again hopefully started the ball rolling!! Fingers crossed it doesn't get jammed up by life lol
