its dazzles engine, i dunno which manifold he had but im sure your work it out
thats a good engine.
The dip of around 6-7 lb/ft torque, which I bet you cannot feel in the drive but it looks massive on the graph, in reality is almost undetectable on the road is most likley caused by a mis-match in primary lengths on the manifold.
Remember our smaller pinto manifolds are designed to fit in a restricted space between the head and the servo tower and as a result its very difficult to get primaries matched exactly
No I dont think the bigger manifold would do you any good, it would only give you bragging rights as you'll probably make a few more horsepower right at the top end and hang onto the power a little longer but probably at the loss of some torque lower down.
Bet the thing pulls like a train, between 4000rpm and 7000rpm its making over 150lb/ft torque which must make for a superb fast road car.
Hi Graham,
First of all, congratulations on this great fast road engine. Awesome power and torque. I bet all the trick is hidden in the head and in the mapping.
Could you please tell me, the AFR around the mid rpm levels and at full open throttle ?
Thank you,
Kerem
green line on graph is AFR, it leanout a bit at the top end because the injectors were too small
Could you please tell me, the AFR around the mid rpm levels and at full open throttle ?
Thank you.
But I can not see the decimals on the graph accurate enough to take an idea.
Also, if it did not lean out at the top, what would you be aiming for continues at wot ?
tbh i dont aim for anything i leave it to the rolling road man! but full throttle on an atmo about 13.1
turbos you run richer, high boost very high power much richer
Graham,
Thank you for your reply.
I assume, wıth the carbs at WOT slightly under 13.1 ( like 12.7 -12.8 ) will be safe enough in a Pinto.
Best Regards,
