Re: Duratec powered vintage Sprint car

..CAPRIMENTAL......that was cool.....that guy was using a sprint car read end ,with ''wide five''hubs.....this system was developed back in the 1940's based on Ford model A rear ends.....Halibrand and Winters seem to have cornered the market......not cheap at £2500.00,but a must have on any sprint car....the noise those straight cut gears make is almost worth the cost....

Re: Duratec powered vintage Sprint car

.....considering I've been away for a while,I seem to have done loads.Pulled myself out of the trough and am on a high at the moment....
.....one of my mates was worried for my nuts ( can I say that ?)and thought that with the prop between my legs, and no tunnel, thought it would be better do something.....so a prop hoop was made, and I feel a little better. The saga with the brakes is almost over...pedal box made, and reinforcing plate to hold them done....only got to weld them in.The Jacobs Ladder is done, and this just needs to be mounted, and that finishes the rear end.Only big jobs are the computer.....but thats a little way away.....and wires.

    Holy cowbells Blackvette59!

I have been following this project for a while now and every time I see a new post I get excited. This thing is bananas and your metal fab/engineering work is brilliant. It is going to be a beauty to drive. I think by the masses following this build more than a few people "get it"

A lot of sprint car action around here Blackvette, something about wide open spaces are car racing seems to work.

Cool picture too by the way. Not too many Hunters floating around in Aus that I have seen. I would love a Mk3 at some stage...that list of "one day"s gets bigger every time I visit this site.

......Trig.....took your advice and decided to run two cylinders.....it really makes good sense.....even though it was a little harder to squeeze them in.....just got to splice two 10lb check valves into the lines, and thats another job done....
