Oh my God......dont know where all thats going to go !!!!! So I guess...filter,low pressure pump, swirl pot,and high pressure pump......and return line ? Does it matter how close all the components are?.......I may need to spread mine out a bit.Let me know how this set up works.....you are a lot closer to fire up than me.......

you can get tanks with this built in or tank with a sump so no need for swirl pot

I am using a sprint car tank...so no provision for sump or built in pump......if your system works.....i'll model mine after yours.

As long as your HP pump is below the tank that's all you need. Plus a pre filter of course.

Agree 100%, that's the same setup I'm running. Plus, the tank you're using is quite tall and narrow so it should be fairly resistant to surge.

Re: Duratec powered vintage Sprint car

Came back from the South of France this week, and managed to get a little work done on the car.The seat has been mounted, and upholstry snapped in.One problem that has been getting me down was the fitting of an oil filter. The chassis is too small to use the OEM system, and a filter plate was sourced from Austrailia....this came with BSP to -12 fittings, and was much too wide.I needed some -6 fittings to try and save some space (had some in my 'stock')...these were Earls fittings with NPT tapered threads.....and these stuck out too far from the plate. What I needed was a BSP to -6 fitting ...(no such fitting available)...After talking over the problem with Alex at Torques....he said no problem..I'll get some made.Couldn't believe it until they turned up today....result.This is one cool guy....([url]www.torques.co.uk) ....give him a try......

Had a little spare time this week, and thought I'd better get around to looking at the exhaust.I made a pattern, and a length of 3 1/2'' tube, and two 45 bends bought.( polished dairy tube and bends are not cheap, but once welded up its a done job)........once welded, thats another big job squared away. Now this sounds dull, but, does it matter where the exhaust sensor is mounted?(if I could not run one that would be cool)...mounting has to be hidden.........

Re: Duratec powered vintage Sprint car

You can run it 'open loop' once mapped, i.e. no lambda sensor in the exhaust, but you should weld a boss on to enable one to be fitted during tuning. It will need to be just after the last primary tube merges.

Exhaust mock-up looks great, you planning on running a silencer at all?

Re: Duratec powered vintage Sprint car

Now,I've never heard a Duratec with out a silencer,so I thought I'd better try and make it a little less noisey.Because the system would not look right with a silencer in the middle of it,I decided to use an Auger type silencer. Now I dont know how good this will be,but the idea is that the exhaust runs through the small tube, and the exhaust that can't get through, curls around that inner tube and quietens it right down. Now that is the theory. The Auger is 14'' long by 3 1/2'' .

    Exboy....thanks for the tip.......

I had a similar problem with the oil filter, with car being LHD meant the steering column was rite were the oil filter needed to be. Ended up making an adaptor to put fittings at 90deg to the block. will get a picture soon.
