Good to see a bit of progress buddy next day is on the 13th sept bud
.....Trig.....thats my anniversary.....don't think I would be able to convince her a day out in Castle Coombe would be a good way to celebrate.....I'll get to one of your gig's if its the last thing I do.. (hey.... Trigs Gigs....could be on to something here !!! )
.....I posted these, and started thinking......ah well.... JUST AN IDEA.....
.....Then Mac Miller threw a spanner in the mix......what can you say ?
so right
as you were,
.....this year has flown, and to be honest, not much progress made. Not going away until Amelia Island in March,so I'll have a chance to get some work done.I have managed to a a few jobs....modified the engine mount rubbers to fit through the frame, got a set of knock off's that had to be refurbished and repolished(a dirty job)these are on the car and look OK.Sorted out my accelerator and injection linkage, and have re visited the brake system.Going to use two cylinders instead of the single I was planning on using, with balance bar and check valves. All the body panels are now finished and ready for paint, and thats where I'm at.....now I never do lists until its time to bust it all apart for paint and detail, but I'm getting old,so the list has began...
...here are the ''knock offs''....
.....right...need to finish the tails chassis....got the tube...got the bender....hope this isn't too hard a job.....thats a big tail
.....this is what I am aiming for.....but the two top tubes will be extended to protect the fuel tank.....
About you did some work.
....Trig...you are right.....
Lol I can't shout too loud I'm as bad but may have a little something to work on next year.
......no hints mate??????
Im a escort nut
.....what was I thinking ??? ..... thought you might have come over to my dark side.....
Maybe when I'm retired I'll have the time to build a hot rod of some sort.
Always liked mk1 zeyhers but would do new chassis and fit supra engine.
....now thats going to be a long way in the future.....
....bending tube is not that easy.....but after a couple of fails got into it.....I found it better to make bends in smaller sections....trying to make double bends is hard. Most of the progress this year has not been that noteable, and I found myself going over parts that had already been sorted (or so I thought). The clutch pedal works well (at least on the bench)...the handbrake cylinder is ready to mount....and the accelerator mount and pedal sorted. The brake pedal and cylinder mount is still on the '' drawing board''...got all the brake lines and fittings, and reworked the engine mounts so they go through the frame. The grade 5 bolts will have their heads cut off, threaded to take nylocks, and welded to the rubber plates. All the fuel lines are sorted, and Alex from Torques is going to pop down to help plumb swirl pots, filters and pumps.....I have cut the 3mm firewall, and hope to get this bent and installed this week...

progress
them pedals are a piece of art buddy,
....Trig...a little.....I've been studying your fuel system and I think it will fit in the tail,as long as I can get a swirl pot as small as yours......rwd,now if only they work....
.....thanks Trig......now this sounds like a dumb question but.....have they got any internal plumbing?....interested in making one...
Hi bud I'm not shore what there like inside if there's some dark art or special shape they need to be but as far as I know they just hold a pot of fuel to stop fuel surge ( so you don't get air in the fuel lines).
I would say if your making one make it tall thin with the main feed to the pump at the bottom.
Did a quick goggle search images but not much of internal pics on there.
I'm shore someone on here will know how they work
Don't know if this is any good?

Just found this one.

Bit more sense!

as long as your lift pump flow exceeds the demand of the engine/whatever the main pump delivers, you can get away with a small pot.... long and tall will work better than short and squat
how much room you got?
......Trig....thanks for doing the R&D for me,and anguz....not a lot of room at all.......When I finish the rear of the chassis I'll have more idea on space.
i have a few 1l oxygen bottles..... thick enough to drill and tap with what ever fittings you need
....anguz...thanks for the offer,but I've got an old Moon ''puke tank''...that I will use...I think....talking it over with a friend today,and he says I'm probably ''over thinking'' this....''its in the tail,and you can't see it....buy one..its cheaper''....he doesn't really know me...
...this is the tank I was thinking of,but Alex in Torques said he could put me in touch with a guy in Ross on Wye who could custom build me one...I'll pay him a visit and make my mind up....
....its that time of year again....Have a great Christmas, and a great,or better New Year.....thanks for all your help over the year, and look forward to your continuing support for 2014......Thanks......
Right old timer new year lets see this finished please.
.....Trig,if this ''old timer'' has not gone to that big scrapyard in the sky...you never know......lets hope 2014 will be good to us all....all the best mate.
Lol I didn't mean it like that more like a old metel work book I have showing you how things should be done.
....I don't know about that Trig....
...alladdin...thank you, that's so kind, but I really need to get this sucker finished, and all the time I spend ''making bits'' could be spent building....(it is no cheaper sometimes to build parts)..so bought off the shelf.....but again thanks for the offer.....
